He was born and educated in Taiwan. He is active as an educator, designer, author, and consultant. He is a professor in the Graduate School of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University, his alma mater. He has also served as a visiting professor throughout Asia. He has his own design consultancy, is managing director of The Graphic Design Association, and is a consultant to the Taiwan Corporate Identity Association, the Kaohslung Creators Association, and the Taiwan Poster Design Association. He was the founding president of the Taiwan Image Poster Design Association, and a founder of the Asian Corporate Identity Association.
